On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, CMD’s Distribution Maintenance Department will be making repairs in Fort Lawn. Customers between Catawba River Road and the railroad tracks beside Lancaster Highway will experience low water pressure or possible loss of service while repair operations are underway. Specifically, customers on the following streets will be affected:

Main Street
White Street
Elm Avenue
Church Street
Depot Street
Oak Street
Walker Street
Pleasant Avenue

Crews are scheduled to close the service valve at 10:00 AM and service interruptions will follow.

Upon completion of work and restoration of service, all customers in the affected area will be under a Boil Water Advisory until bacteriological testing is complete.

A Boil Water Advisory is optional for customers but strongly advised. Under this advisory, the Chester Metropolitan District urges residents boil water vigorously for one (1) minute prior to use for cooking or drinking. CMD does not anticipate contamination as a result of this repair operation.

Customers who experience discolored water should flush their faucets until the water runs clear. Severely discolored water should be reported to the CMD office by calling (803) 385-5123.
