Water Filtration Plant Night Watchman
Hours of Work: M-F 11:00 pm – 7:00 am
Opening Date: March 1, 2024

Hiring Salary: $16.40 per hour
General Statement of Job Duties
This position is responsible for maintaining the security and monitoring systems of the Filter Plant at night.
- Provides security to the Filter Plant at night, periodically walking the property to ensure that it is secure
- Monitors the SCADA system
- Weekly cleaning of lab and admin building. Sweeping of other buildings.
- Promptly communicates with the on-call operator about any issues that arise
- Performs routine and non-routine inspections and observations at designated locations
- Identifies need and initiates emergency response (fire, ambulance, law enforcement) during non-business hours.
- Exercises and demonstrates good judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Training and Experience
- High school diploma and 0-3 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to work alone at night with minimum supervision
- Ability to accomplish physically demanding tasks such as climbing stairs and able to negotiate uneven terrain and obstacles in all weather conditions multiple times during their shift
- South Carolina Driver’s License and the ability to operate motor vehicles
- Ability to verbally communicate observations clearly through phone or radio and be able to input observations and instructions into a computer system
- Must have very strong written and verbal communication skills.
Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent.
